Press Release Garden Festival at Dokka: 28-29th June

Nordre Land HAGELAG repeat last year's success and organize this year its third garden festival at Dokka . There will be a gardening market, interesting lectures, tasting of exotic food, a rose auction and garden visits. We want to spread the joy of gardening!
Friday 27 June , Informal Garden Festival kickoff in Lower Smebyveg 15, Dokka at 1800: Soup and garden visits. Registration up to Monday 23 June to nordreland.hagelag @ gmail.com.
Saturday June 28 The main shopping road, Storgata in Dokka will be closed and filled with stands of garden related products. The market runs from 1000 to 1500. Rare perennials, hardy grapes and roses will be for sale as will a wide range of garden tools and lawn ornaments. Garden art will also be available. Come and be inspired.
This year we will be visited by the project " Limitless vegetables and herbs”, the Norwegian Gardening Club’s gift for the Queen's 75th birthday in 2013. You will be served tastes of exotic food, made from vegetables it is possible to grow in Norway.
This
year's garden festival will have extra focus on edible crops and we have therefore
asked local Bente Stadsvoll to hold a short lecture about how herbs in nature
and the garden inspire her to try new dishes. This will take place at the Bedehuset at 1100.
We
are also fortunate that we have managed to persuade designer duo Arne and
Carlos to come to Dokka. They have built up an inspiring and creative garden at
Tonsåsen station, at about 650 m. We will learn more about this at the
Bedehuset at 1230.
We will also have a rose auction, under the expert guidance of our rose expert Dag at about 1400.
Free
activity for children, where they can create floral decorations with material supplied
by Floriss Dokka. The decoration can be taken home with them.
There
will once a again be a wild flower walk with Geir Høitomt from Spåtind Sport Hotel at 17.
